Baby Nursery Room Ideas - Converting an Existing Room

Are you expecting a baby? Like most of us, you probably don't have an empty room waiting to be filled with baby equipment and accessories. Here are a few important considerations to take into account when converting an existing space into a baby nursery room.

Spare room - if your future baby room is a spare room at the moment, think about where visitors will sleep from now on. A sofa bed in the living room is a good compromise.

Office - this can be a difficult conversion. First ask yourself: is your office a place where you write a few letters and file your bank statements, or somewhere that you or your partner earns money, builds a business?

If it's just for occasional use, you can easily carry out these tasks at your kitchen table. Some rearrangement of storage with better organisation will be necessary.

If your home office is an essential space and the baby is your second child, consider having your baby share with his/her sibling. This may or may not work, depending on the temperament of the children. Don't discount this idea before giving it a try.

Decoration - creating a new nursery does not have to mean a complete redecoration. Instead of painting all the walls, why not put some nursery themed wall stickers up around the room?

How about applying a baby mural on one of the walls? This eye-catching solution draws the eye away from things that you as a prospective parent haven't had time to prettify.
